One of Newman University’s core values is “transform the world”, and I’m thrilled to introduce doctors who are currently transforming medical care in Wichita. Direct Primary Care (DPC), which is the core philosophy of Antioch Med (https://www.antiochmed.com/), is based on the fact that all doctors and staff build deep relationships with their patients to protect/improve long term health. What a comfort it is to be checked by doctors who are knowledgeable of each patient’s whole health history and are connected to what is going on with patient’s life! Some people call DPC medical concierge service because of its accessibility and personalized care.
Antioch is a clinic that is serving the community through introducing this innovative care model to Wichita. I’ve known Dr. Alleman (Co-Founder of Antioch) since 2018, and he is the most knowledgeable, caring, and humble doctor I’ve met in my life. His clinic currently has six doctors and one physician assistant; Dr. Tomsen , Dr. Elson, Dr. Cooper, Dr. Alleman, Dr. Pierce, PA. Pierce, and Dr. Blackwell. All of them are deeply focused on relationships with patients and Antioch does not require complicated health insurance. In the U.S., there are over 2000 clinics that follow the DPC model and Antioch is one of five DPC clinics in Wichita. DPC allows patients to contact their primary doctors via phone call, text, and email, and same-day and next day appointment is available.
If you are an aspiring physician who is passionate about building lifetime relationship with your patients, analyzing patients from every possible aspect including mental health and preventive medicine, DPC is the medical model you would like to pursue.
