Dr. Whitely is originally from California, but have lived in Kansas for over 40 years, and now wouldn’t live anywhere else. He loves the people most, but he has also learned to love the landscape, and overall position of Kansas within the U.S. He goes to Branson as a family twice a year; he goes almost every month.
He is blessed to have three wonderful kids, all grown, two in Wichita and one in Seattle. He is a retired Board Certified Family Physician. He absolutely loved doing patient care, but he is ready to help teach others what they need to know to hopefully do it well. He is also a retired Colonel in the U.S. Air Force; he was a flight surgeon and flew in fighter jets for six years. His time in the Air Force and the Navy (fresh out of high school) allowed him to see much of the world, and he learned how absolutely great we have it here in the U.S..
Most of all, He is excited to be on board at Newman University! He can’t wait to teach and get to know the students and hopefully further inspire them to achieve their goals!
