Hello! I am Meagan Vogel, and I am currently going through the Masters of Biomedical Sciences at Newman. I am a different kind of student as I first graduated with my bachelor’s in forensic science from Wichita State University back in 2009 and then obtained my master’s in education from Wichita State University in 2012. I am also a mom of three littles and a wife of almost 12 years. My family is my life and passion. I am also a business owner with my husband. We lead a very busy life, and we wouldn’t trade it for anything! I have been teaching high school science for the Wichita Public School district for 16 years now. Classes I mainly teach include honors biology and anatomy and physiology. I love teaching science to students who want to go into the medical profession. Watching their drive for their goals is so much fun. I am also the co- department chair for our science department and am our schools SkillsUSA advisor. Our SkillsUSA chapter competes at the state level for lots of different things, but we have attended Nationals for mobile robotics technology and health knowledge bowl. The reason I am doing this program at this time is to increase my knowledge to help my teaching and then also possibly get into teaching college classes. I would love to branch out and teach even higher-level students. So far this has been a fun program to be a part of and I have increased my knowledge on some parts and even been able to share that with my students now.
